Intel-only plugins on Apple Silicon: how to find them and what to do

Intel-only plugins on Apple Silicon

Plugins built only for Intel Macs run on Apple Silicon through Rosetta, Apple's translation layer. Apple has said Rosetta is being retired, so the question is which of your plugins are Intel-only, and which of those have a native update waiting.

Find them

Then, plugin by plugin

  1. Check for a native update. Many vendors shipped Apple Silicon versions years ago. If PluginHub flags an update on an Intel-only plugin, installing it usually brings the native build.
  2. Check the vendor's site for plugins with no update showing. The Website button on each card goes straight there.
  3. Decide what to keep. A plugin with no native version can stay as long as Rosetta is available. Park it in (Unused) if you want it out of the way without deleting it, or uninstall it to the Trash when you are sure.

PluginHub reports what a plugin's own files say about its build. It does not guess, and it never deletes anything without you asking.
